Artist Statement

My work is an ever-evolving journey of healing personal, intergenerational, and collective trauma. As a Vietnamese immigrant-refugee, I've often felt like an outsider, caught between two cultures and grappling with my identity. Art has always been my refuge, helping me express myself by pouring my emotions onto the canvas and allowing me to sort through the overwhelm when words aren't enough.

My creative process is deeply intuitive, focusing more on the process than the outcome. Each piece emerges transformed, reflecting my ever-evolving vision while evoking a unique meaning for each person who experiences it. Usually, found objects and sentimental materials will find a renewed sense of purpose and belonging as they settle into the paint.

My work aims to build empathy, raise awareness, and help others feel less alone in their own healing journeys. I hope to connect with others and offer a sense of belonging and understanding through my art.
